Max R. Emmerling, DDS, MD in Chicago

Dr. Max Emmerling was born and raised in the Baltimore area and completed all of his education and training in the state of Maryland. He received a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his Medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and his Dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Emmerling completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical training at the University of Maryland Medical Center and world-famous R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, recognized as one of the busiest and most highly acclaimed trauma centers in the country.

Dr. Emmerling’s primary clinical interests include orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. Dr. Emmerling is involved in research in the areas of maxillofacial trauma, dentofacial deformities, benign maxillofacial pathology, and temporomandibular joint disorders and he has published articles and book chapters on these topics and has presented at conferences both nationally and internationally. In his practice, Dr. Emmerling utilizes 3-D virtual surgical planning to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients undergoing orthognathic reconstruction and TMJ replacement surgeries.
