Porcelain, Zirconia Dental Implants

Dental implants are small titanium screws that are inserted in the jaw bone in areas of missing teeth. After inserted, the lightweight titanium alloy screws are inserted, and topped with the visible crown, which typically consists of porcelain, zirconia, or a combination of both. These implants are an excellent solution for many people who have permanently lost a single tooth, multiple teeth, or those who use dentures.

Dental implants can help improve a patient’s quality of life by restoring the normal function of chewing, speaking, and biting. They mimic the roots of natural teeth and prevent progressive bone loss and shrinkage of your jawbone. Implants can be used to retain a single tooth, multiple teeth, or dentures.

  • To successfully place an implant, one may require additional procedures, including:
  • Tooth socket preservation
  • Alveolar ridge augmentation with allogenic or autogenic bone
  • Maxillary sinus bone grafting

In cases of severe bone loss and shrinkage of alveolar bone in the upper jaw, we can consider placing zygomatic implants. They are placed in the zygomatic bone (cheekbone), which is denser than the surrounding jawbone, when an even more stable and durable anchorage for the implant is needed, and can also provide a great alternative for stable denture restoration.

OMHNA surgeons will gladly work alongside your dentist and/or prosthodontist to provide seamless care.

I am 32 years old and developed oral cancer of my tongue. Dr Qaisi took out part of my tongue successfully and replaced my tongue with a flap. I am grateful to be cancer free a year and a half later. I am very appreciative of Dr Qaisi and his team.
